Early Mobility Decision Tree

The Decision Tree is useful for physiotherapists or anyone responsible for determining if a patient is safe to walk. Patients should be able to roll over to one side, sit up at the edge of the bed, and stand before attempting walking. If they are unable to move to the next stage, a list of exercises is provided that can be done to build up the patient's strength. However, some patients may require more assistance to move, and even if they cannot do these tasks on their own, staff or caregivers should still help them up to sit and stand up to improve their recovery.
